It really doesn't matter which generation you're from, if you grew up with four wheels under your feet you'll appreciate the insane vintage longboard surf styling from this 1965 skate movie titled "Skaterdater". These kids are styling through the streets of Santa Monica with the old original clay wheels - barefoot!
The Seedling - Thomas Campbell
The Seedling is a film by Thomas Campbell before his more famous "Sprout." The Seedling is a longboarding film but is "not a retro movie." Featuring the regulars: Joel Tudor, Devon Howard, Kassia Meador, Dane Peterson, Jimmy Gamboa and even Skip Frye and Donald Takayama among others. Thomas Campbell does a great job using this medium capturing the fantastic colors seen in and around the ocean highlighted beautifully with art from Thomas Campbell.

It's been quite some time since surfing has been used in anything with a commercial angle that felt...well, genuine. Everytime I see surfing in a feature film, (think..'North Shore') or a television show (think "John from Cincinnati") it always falls flat.
